Babylonstoren Babel Red 750ml

This dry, medium-bodied red blend offers a balanced fusion of black fruit and a savoury edge of cigar. Our winemakers have aged each component in oak barrels to produce a soft mouth-feel and juicy, lingering finish that will leave you wanting more.

It is youthful and vibrant, with enough depth to hold its own when savoured with slow-cooked game or oxtail stew, barbecued boerewors, fire-grilled lamb chops with rosemary or lightly spiced pulled pork.

The blend is made up of shiraz 39%, pinotage 28%, merlot 13%, petit verdot 12%, cabernet franc 3%, cabernet sauvignon 2%, malbec 2%, pinot noir 1%.

ABV: 14%

Beautifully balanced, with ripe tannins and well-judged oak providing fine structure around a plump, juicy fruit core. A delicious modern red wine showing great class and substance. Lingering and irresistible now, but will reward careful cellaring if you have the patience to wait.

Room temperature, 16–18°C (60–64°F).

Excellent with lamb stew and quince, slow-cooked venison knuckle with rosemary and bone marrow, sweet-and-savoury pork ribs or beef wellington.
